" (You have) been responsive and professional. (You) have provided a unique and quality product to the Golden Community…Sk8parks International would be the first supplier we would call if we were to expand our existing facility or build a new one. I would recommend them for consideration for any skate park project you have in mind."

Skate park liability is a big concern.

According to the HIA Analysis Report on Skateboarding (product code 1333) put out by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, 35% of all skateboarding related injuries may be reduced or eliminated if environmental controls were in operation. It also states that approximately 32% of all injuries happen when skaters struck irregularities in the riding surface, rocks, pebbles, cracks in the streets, ruts or holes in the roads, etc. Before riding, the area should be checked for holes, bumps rocks and debris. Areas set aside for skateboarding, such as skateboard parks, generally have a smoother riding surface thus providing a safer environment for skaters..
According to the Skate Park Association USA (SPAUSA), the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission showed that skateboarding had an injury rate of 0.49%, or 27,718 injuries for 6.2 million skaters. In comparison, soccer posted an injury rate of 1.42%, or 146,409 injuries for 10.3 million participants. In structured skateparks, SPAUSA publications note, injury rates drop to as low as 0.16%.
A designated area for skating is the most important factor in reducing injuries. Constructing a designated area for rollerblading, skateboarding and trick biking allows kids of all ages to enjoy their sport as safely as possible, in a controlled environment
Skate parks are an alternative to kids rollerblading, skateboarding and trick biking in business districts, parking lots and city streets. Without a controlled environment to enjoy these activities, these problems will increase. Doing nothing puts unnecessary pressure on businesses, residents and police departments.
Proper positioning of all the equipment on the site is very critical, creating a safe "flow" throughout the park. We have many different options to choose from and can help you lay out equipment correctly.
Clearly posted signage containing rules and regulations greatly reduces liability and increases safety awareness in a well designed facility. We have in-house capabilities to make a custom sign or signs for your park that help to spell out guidelines and rules for park users. These signs can also be used to list sponsors or key groups of people involved in helping to make the skate park a reality in your community.
